Reinier is a founder and investor. Prior to founding Ostara Calix, Reinier worked at Texas Pacific Group (TPG) where he evaluated investment opportunities ranging from large-scale buyouts to growth equity and venture rounds. He worked in TPG’s Rise Fund, the largest social and environmental fund in the world. From scaling the C-Suite, to expanding to new product lines, the focus was always on growing the businesses they acquired. Prior to TPG, Reinier worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.
As the son of two immigrant entrepreneurs, Reinier’s been immersed in business since birth. Family dinner discussions ranged from figuring out how we could find more service technicians (a highway billboard was the answer), to whether an office expansion was the right choice for a business with significant volatility.
Reinier has built his own real estate development firm Saffron, providing affordable housing to low-income tenants in Houston.
He has sailed competitively for the US Olympic Development team, and in his free time, he still enjoys rigging a boat and competing together with his fiancé, Maeve.
Reinier received his bachelor of science in engineering from Stanford University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
